Bring out those favorite recipes ...

Remember her Rugelach?

How often are your sweetest memories triggered by thought of the food served or prepared by someone you care about? Here's your chance to share great recipes, and put a little life in those memories.

Make our community cookbook special!

We are creating a Temple Beth-El Community Cookbook and need your favorite recipes.

These can be family heirlooms or something you found last week on the web. It can be something you prepare or you can coax a favorite recipe from a family member or friend. They can be from other cookbooks (or websites) so long as you provide us with the source of the recipe so we can properly attribute it.

The only requirement is that they generally follow Jewish dietary laws so no shellfish, pork or mixed meat and milk.

If you can, please include a story about the recipe or a dedication in honor or memory of someone associated with the recipe. For example, "This recipe is shared in loving memory of..." or "My mother used to make this every Passover.." or "Kiddush at Temple Beth-El was never complete without ..." or "I had this when my family visited Disney World and I asked the chef..." or "This recipe is a real crowd pleaser..." The more personal stories you share the more special the book will be so don't be shy.

Tell us your kitchen secrets of success!

Special dishes with memories baked in.

We are also looking for chapter sponsors who, for a donation of $100, will be honored together with a small dedication on the chapter divider. We are not sure exactly how many chapters we will have but will give the donors their choice of chapter in the order in which we receive the sponsorship so get those sponsorships in early if you want to sponsor a particular chapter (like dessert!)

The cookbook editorial team includes two of TBE's favorite cooks, Kathy Prussack and Dr. Harvey Roter.  Submit your recipe using the form below, or mail it to the office before October 1.  If you mail recipes, word processor or typewritten copy is preferred.  Questions?  Contact Kathy Prussack at cookbook@betheljc.org

Thank you for being part of this very special project!
