Stop Antisemitism on NJ Campuses

Tell Gov. Murphy to Stop Antisemitism on NJ Campuses

In the months since the brutal massacre committed by Hamas on October 7th, we have seen a dramatic and disturbing uptick in antisemitic incidents and antisemitic violence on college campuses across New Jersey. Some of the antisemitic threats New Jersey students have reported since the events of October 7th include, but are not limited to:

  • Being threatened verbally and physically by anti-Israel agitators.
  • Being harassed with antisemitic tropes.
  • Having to deal with faculty and classmates who chant genocidal slogans, such as, “From the river to the sea,” and “Globalize the Intifada.”

Additionally, New Jersey colleges and universities, such as William Paterson, Rutgers, and Ramapo have allowed antisemitic campus organizations to operate within their campuses, and, in some cases, have even reinstated them without penalty, allowing them to harass Jewish students trying to simply participate in their studies and daily lives. Such examples include:

  • A faculty and student exchange program ran by William Paterson University for years with Hamas-affiliated Birzeit University, which actively participates in activities outlawed by the New Jersey government, and does not allow Jewish or Israeli visitors on its campus.
  • At Rutgers, they have protected the blood libel as “academic discourse.”

Join Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey in urging Governor Murphy to take action against universities and colleges where antisemitism has grown rampant, by restricting funding to institutions that support terrorism and do not protect Jewish students.
